Our son Josh and his wife Anna had their first child, but more importantly our first grandchild, in January. Her name is Claire and she is beautiful. As grandparents we would say this regardless, but she really is. The only thing capable of breaking the depression of realizing you are old enough to have grandkids is actually having them. It seems our main goal in life has now become spoiling Claire. With your own kids you have to be very careful not to turn them into spoiled, self centered brats. Not so much with grandkids. Their parents can straighten them out when they get them back home (sorry Josh & Anna). Good luck with that by the way!
